A few tips:

1. do not use absolute black (#000000) for the places where the eyes are going to look at the most (i.e. chat area)
2. add to the minimalist feel by removing the various menus. Instead, make a small button, or somehow minimize the clutter
3. spice it up in a subtle manner, for example by making the corners round, or adding a white border

other than that, I like what you're doing because I'm on MSN till 2am most mornings and black(ish) is comfortable to look at. ..oh and remove the large icons... and think about the type of fonts you want to use..

-- Why not use the pure black for the background? I find it's the easiest color on my eyes (espically at 2:00am -the time I'm writing this..)

-- I really don't see how the menu's are cluttered.. I also don't know enough about skinning to make custom menu bar/buttons. If you do, feel free to do so.

-- Top corners are round, I was thinking about making the bottom corners round too.. and there is a border around the windows, its a dark grey, but noticeable.. white just stuck out too much and didn't look good.

I really love this skin. There are some things though that I think could make it better. That dark grey border you use, you should also put it around the chat area, users and stuff, maybe a lighter grey for the tab backgrounds? And if it's not too much, the menus (drop-down) could use an outline too. It would be easier to read that way.

This is just what I think and like. I would do it but I don't know how to skin, yet. The best thing about it is that I haven't found little bugs that block off menus and stuff like other skins. It's the skin I am currently using, thanks!

Hello, I tried out the original Nocturnal skin and your 3.0 version. I'm kinda missing the blue outline that made the original so stylish, but I like that you added an outline round the typing area :]
Haven't yet made up my mind which skin to use, might even return to my beloved, albeit outdated, Frequency Pontiac ;]
